Something electrical isn’t right? Start with the fault.

AESS provides practical electrical repairs and fault finding for homes, businesses and managed properties across Toowoomba and surrounding regions. We diagnose the problem, explain what we find and repair it where practical — without pretending every small fault needs to become a major project.

What we repair

The everyday electrical jobs still matter.

Not every job needs a project manager and a shutdown plan. Sometimes you simply need an electrician to find out why something stopped working and get it back into service properly.

01

Tripping circuits

Recurring safety-switch or circuit-breaker trips, intermittent faults and circuits that will not reset or stay on.

02

Power loss

Partial power loss, dead outlets, failed circuits and other faults where only part of the property has stopped working.

03

Lighting faults

Failed fittings, flickering lights, switching problems, damaged exterior lights and other lighting faults.

04

Power points & switches

Damaged, loose, failed or overheated electrical accessories that need repair or replacement.

05

Ceiling fans

Fan replacement, control faults, unusual operation and electrical issues affecting ceiling-fan circuits.

06

Hot water & appliances

Electrical faults affecting hot-water systems, fixed appliances and equipment connections where the electrical supply needs to be checked.

Fault finding

The symptom tells us where to start — not necessarily what failed.

Electrical faults can be obvious, intermittent or completely misleading. The useful part of fault finding is narrowing the problem down logically rather than guessing with replacement parts.

✓
“The safety switch keeps tripping.”
We work through the affected circuit, connected equipment and installation condition to isolate the likely cause.
✓
“Half the house has no power.”
The cause may be a circuit fault, failed protective device, loose connection, supply problem or another issue that needs to be identified before repairs begin.
✓
“It only happens sometimes.”
Intermittent faults can take longer to reproduce, but good site information and a logical test process can narrow down where the problem sits.
✓
“Something smells hot.”
Signs of overheating, arcing or burning need prompt attention because the underlying fault may continue to worsen.
Repair or investigate?

Some faults are fixed in one visit. Others need diagnosis first.

A failed light switch may be straightforward. An intermittent trip affecting several circuits may not be. Where the fault is not immediately obvious, the first job is to diagnose the cause safely before promising the final repair scope.

What helps us find it faster

When did the problem start?A sudden change often gives us a useful starting point.
What was running when it happened?Appliances, air conditioning, pumps, heaters or equipment can help narrow the affected circuit or load.
Is it constant or intermittent?A fault that only appears under certain conditions may need a different testing approach.
Has anyone recently worked on the property?Renovations, roof work, plumbing, pest work or equipment changes can sometimes be relevant to a new electrical fault.
When the repair becomes an upgrade

Sometimes the fault is telling you the installation has reached its limit.

AESS will repair the immediate issue where practical, but some faults reveal ageing equipment, crowded switchboards, damaged mains or protection that should be considered more broadly.

A

Ageing switchboard

A failed device or recurring issue can expose older protection and limited board space that make a wider switchboard upgrade worth considering.

B

Overloaded or unsuitable circuit

A circuit may be operating beyond what is sensible for the loads now connected to it, particularly after years of additions and alterations.

C

Incoming supply issue

Some faults or upgrade requirements lead back to the consumer mains, point of attachment or the broader supply arrangement.

Managed properties

Repairs that fit into the property-management workflow.

AESS regularly handles electrical service work for real estate and property-management clients. Where authorised, we can coordinate access with tenants, complete the repair or report the larger scope back to the agency.

Property manager?

Smoke alarm faults, lost power, damaged fittings, hot-water electrical issues and everyday maintenance can all sit inside the same AESS relationship.

Common questions

Service & fault-finding FAQs.

My safety switch keeps tripping. Can you find the fault?

Yes. Recurring trips can be caused by the fixed wiring, connected equipment, moisture, damaged accessories or other electrical faults. The correct repair depends on what testing identifies.

Can you repair a power point or light switch?

Yes. AESS handles everyday electrical repairs including damaged switches, outlets and lighting equipment.

Do you repair appliances?

AESS can diagnose the electrical supply and connection side of fixed appliances and some equipment-related faults. Whether the appliance itself is economically repairable depends on the equipment and fault identified.

What if the fault is inside the switchboard?

AESS can assess switchboard-related faults. If the board has a localised repair issue, that may be all that is needed. If the fault reveals a wider problem with ageing equipment, protection or available space, we can explain the upgrade options separately.

Can you do urgent electrical repairs?

Yes, subject to technician availability and the nature and location of the fault. If there is an immediate electrical hazard, call AESS rather than relying solely on an online enquiry.

Do you work outside Toowoomba?

Yes. AESS is based in Toowoomba and services surrounding regions. The most practical response depends on the location, urgency and type of electrical work required.
